Deo Kayiwa Nsereko
Deo Kayiwa Nsereko, the presidential advisor on Luwero triangle affairs has passed away aged 76.
The news of his passing was announced by one of his sons, Deo Francis Kiwalabye. Born on August 17, 1947, Nsereko had a remarkable career, including serving as the Luwero district LC V chairman and as the Luwero resident district commissioner (RDC).
According to his son Kiwalabye, Nsereko had been battling prostate cancer for an extended period. He bid his family farewell on Thursday as he was being transported to Euro Care, a healthcare facility in Nansana Municipality in Wakiso district for an operation.
Kiwalabye revealed that the surgery took place the following day, but Nsereko passed away at around 2 pm. The tentative burial program indicates that Nsereko will be laid to rest on Monday, September 18 at 2 pm at Wakatayi-Bbungu in Luwero district, at his ancestral home.
Ronald Ndawula, Luwero district National Resistance Movement (NRM) party chairperson and former Luwero district LC V chairperson eulogized Nsereko, saying, “he built the existing district headquarters and he inspired me to work. I loved his confidence and forward-looking ideas.”
