Equity Bank honors security guard for going above and beyond
KAMPALA, Uganda — Equity Bank Uganda recognized a security guard Friday for her outstanding customer service, the bank said.
Betty Akia was publicly commended by a bank client, Margret Abwoyo, for going above and beyond her duties at the Church House branch.
Moved by the praise, Equity Bank Managing Director Gift Shoko personally awarded Akia a cash prize of 500,000 Ugandan shillings (approximately $135 USD).
Shoko said Akia “represents the true spirit of Equity, where every team member … plays a crucial role in delivering value to our customers.”
The bank said the recognition underscores its commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and appreciation among its staff.
