The police in Kagadi have arrested two women on allegations of murdering a man.

The suspects have been identified as Grace Kyomuhendo and Olive Kembabazi, both residents of Rwabaranga village in Rwabaranga parish of Mpeefu sub-county in Kagadi district, while the deceased is Baker Bwambale, 25, a resident of the same area.

The suspects while in a local bar at Rwabaranga trading on June 18, picked a quarrel with the deceased over unknown reasons. They reportedly beat him to coma using a blunt object. Samuel Baluku, a resident, states that they rushed Bwambale to Kagadi general hospital in critical condition for treatment, where he later died.

Julius Hakiza, Albertine region police spokesperson says, that after the incident, the suspects fled the area. According to Hakiza, the suspects were arrested on Monday and immediately whisked to the Kagadi central police station where they are currently detained on murder charges.

Meanwhile, a 45-year-old man has been strangled to death in Kagadi district. The deceased has been identified as Yakobo Byeitaka, a resident of Karagi village in Kitema parish of Kyenzige sub-county.

It is alleged that the deceased on June 21, was approached by his two brothers to go and solve a land conflict. He however never returned home. Rosemary Fatuma, a relative states that, they became suspicious after Byeitaka failed to return home. They mounted a search for him in vain.

They later reported the matter to police who promptly joined them in the search for the missing person. On June 22 the deceased’s lifeless body was recovered dumped in the nearby bush in the same village with bruises around the neck, an indication that he could have been strangled to death by his killers before they dumped his body in the bush.
