The health workers were found with government supplied drugs
Two health workers in Kasese have been arrested after being found in possession of government-supplied antiretroviral drugs (ARVs).
Justine Ithungu, a resident of Kidodo cell in Kasese Municipality was found with 50 tins of ARVs while Paul Bwambale Makanika, a resident of the Railway ward also in Kasese was allegedly found with 450 tins at their respective homes.
Uganda National Drug Authority (NDA) in collaboration with police conducted the operation according to NDA public relations manager, Abiaz Rwamwiri.
He noted that the arrests followed an intelligence-led operation across the district. The suspects were later transferred to Kibuli in Kampala for interrogation.
