KAMPALA, Uganda — Pride Bank Limited has earned dual recognition from the Bank of Uganda, being named First Runner-Up in both the Agricultural Credit Facility Award and the Small Business Fund Award. The accolades were granted under the general category of Best Performing Financial Institution in the Credit Institutions and Microfinance Deposit Taking Institutions as of March 31, 2025.
The recognition came during the Bank of Uganda’s annual awards ceremony, which evaluates financial institutions on innovation, customer focus and measurable impact. Pride Bank’s performance in these two critical credit categories underscores its commitment to serving Uganda’s economic core.
Consolate Namyalo Kateregga, head of Pride Bank’s Credit Unit, said the distinction highlights the bank’s leadership in delivering “innovative, targeted credit solutions that drive agricultural transformation and small business resilience across Uganda.”

The Agricultural Credit Facility Award honors institutions demonstrating excellence in providing tailored credit solutions to support Uganda’s agricultural sector. Pride Bank Limited was recognized for its innovative lending practices, which have empowered farmers to adopt modern techniques and secure improved yields, strengthening rural livelihoods.
Similarly, the Small Business Fund Award acknowledges organizations that provide robust recovery and growth facilities for small businesses. By offering flexible financing and personalized advisory services, Pride Bank has played a pivotal role in helping small enterprises overcome challenges and thrive in an evolving market.
The overall recognition as Best Performing Financial Institution in its category further emphasizes the bank’s sustained excellence and strategic focus on inclusive growth across both agricultural and small business sectors. Pride Bank was specifically commended for timely and full loan repayments under the Small Business Recovery Fund, outstanding loan submissions, value disbursed and outreach to underserved regions. The bank was also noted for its meaningful partnerships supporting Uganda’s agriculture and small and medium-sized enterprise recovery.
