Pinnacle Security signs up to international standards

Pinnacle Security Limited, a renowned private security firm in Uganda, has been registered as a member of the International Code of Conduct (ICoCA) Board of Directors, the first indigenous private security firm in Uganda to achieve this milestone.

The induction into this special club of companies is a testament to Pinnacle Security Limited’s commitment to respecting human rights and humanitarian principles and standards in the Code and providing assurance that the company’s procedures and practices comply with the international code of conduct, according to a statement from the company.

ICoCA is a multi-stakeholder initiative formed in 2013 to ensure that providers of private security services respect human rights and humanitarian law.

The statement adds, “It serves as the governance and oversight mechanism of the International Code of Conduct for Private Security Service Providers (the “Code”).”

The statement noted, “Being an affiliate member affirms that Pinnacle Security has a responsibility to respect the human rights of, and fulfil humanitarian responsibilities towards, all those affected by their business activities, including personnel, clients, suppliers, shareholders, and the population of the area in which services are provided.”

Pinnacle Security further noted that as a member and affiliate, the company also “Recognizes the importance of respecting the various cultures encountered in our work…”
