This is one of the more interesting weekends at the cinema. On the one hand, you have Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, which chronicles the development of the atomic bomb, an invention that changed the course of history.

On the other hand, you have Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, in which the residents of Barbie Land live perfect lives until one of them has an existential crisis. If her name is new to you, Gerwig’s previous projects include Lady Bird and Little Women.

Both movies have received positive reviews from critics and fans alike. If you are struggling to choose which one to see, watch both. Start with Oppenheimer. Once Nolan has sufficiently depressed you, Barbie can inject some cheer back into your life.
