New campaign to boost cashless transactions and digital financial inclusion

Airtel Uganda has launched a new campaign aimed at enhancing digital financial services by incentivizing customers to go cashless through daily, weekly and monthly rewards, in the form of e-money which will be directly deposited into their wallets.

Ugandans using Airtel Money have an opportunity to walk away with prizes including a brand new Toyota RAV 4 Hybrid sports utility vehicle (SUV), motorbikes and money following the launch of a new customer rewards campaign by Airtel Mobile Commerce Uganda, the provider of Airtel’s digital financial services.

The three-month campaign dubbed Vroomula Amajja which was launched last week in Kampala will run for 13 weeks giving Airtel Money customers, agents and businesses using Airtel Pay merchant codes the opportunity to win the prizes at stake. By simply carrying out any Airtel Money transaction, a customer automatically enters into daily, weekly and monthly draws to win.

Japhet Aritho, the managing director of Airtel Mobile Commerce Uganda, while launching the campaign said, the campaign is going to redefine the landscape of cashless transactions in Uganda by turning every transaction into an opportunity and every shilling into a stepping stone towards their customers’ dreams.

“Through Vroomula Amajja, we are not just changing how Ugandans transact; we are changing lives, fueling dreams, powering ambitions and driving the nation towards a cashless future where every transaction opens a world of possibilities,” Aritho added.

Every day, 45 Ugandans will receive a cash boost directly into their Airtel Money wallets. Additionally, nine Ugandans every week will ride away with new boda bodas (motorbikes) and for one fortunate customer, the grand prize of a Toyota RAV 4 Hybrid car awaits.

To participate in the campaign, customers will have to transact using Airtel Money via the USSD code or the My Airtel App to send, deposit or withdraw cash, do mobile banking, pay bills, use Airtel Money Pay, do international money transfers or buy airtime. By so doing, customers and Airtel Money agents will stand a chance to enter the draw to win the daily or monthly prizes.
