Netflix has all the juice

You can watch The Mother on Netflix on May 12. The action drama film features Jennifer Lopez as a former assassin that emerges from hiding to protect the daughter she abandoned.

Niki Caro, the director, is responsible for Whale Rider from 2002 and 2020’s live-action Mulan. You can also watch the Netflix documentary Queen Cleopatra on May 10.

The project gained notoriety a while ago when Egyptians criticized Netflix for changing Cleopatra’s race by casting a black actress. While Cleopatra ruled Egypt, she had Macedonian and Greek ancestry. The pharaoh was not Egyptian, as some people assume.
