Museveni promotes 187 prison officers

President Yoweri Museveni has promoted five prison officers to the highest rank of assistant commissioner general of prisons (ACGP).
Museveni also promoted 182 others between the ranks of assistant superintendent of prisons (ASP) and senior commissioner of prisons (SCP).
Those promoted to ACGP include John Bosco Tumwebaze, Milton Tiyo, Robert Munanura, Hillary Bisanga, and George Muge. Dr Johnson Byabashaija, the commissioner general of Uganda Prisons said the prison officers were promoted after scrutiny and advice to the president.
Museveni promoted four to SCP and they include; Jude Tadeo Kaliisa, Wilson Francis Magomu, Frank Mayanja Baine, and Julius Aloka. Wilson Francis Magomu has been serving as commissioner in charge of security and service operations. He previously held the position of commissioner of prisons headquarters. He was also the regional prison commander in charge of Kampala Extra.
Baine, the commissioner of prisons in charge of corporate affairs has previously served as commissioner of prisons in charge of prisons headquarters and is the longest-serving Uganda Prisons Service spokesperson.
In the 2020 reshuffle, Jude Tadeo Kaliisa then serving as commissioner prisons headquarters was appointed commissioner prisons in charge of prisons projects development. He has also been serving in the portfolio of seed multiplication and cotton production.
Those promoted to commissioner of prisons include; Moses Ssentalo. Sentalo has headed Kigo prison. Others are; Elly Edson Tumuramye, Alex Mukkola Oloka, Stella Nabunya, Brenda Sana, Jacob Kivumbi, Alex Ben Simon Wansadha, Apollo Bakwate Akankunda, Juliet Nantale, Prossy Geraldine Najuuma, Kenneth Mugabirwe, Aggrey Aturwaniriire, and Aliyo Naatukunda.
Ten have been promoted to ACP, 20 promoted to SSP, 41 have been promoted to SP, and 41 have been promoted to ASP.
