Kakumiro man arrested for kicking pregnant wife to death 

A 30-year-old man, Nabbos Byarugaba has been arrested by police in Kakumiro for allegedly killing his 25-year-old wife Florence Musiime.

The couple has been residing in Muziranduru village, Kibijjo sub-county in Kakumiro district in eastern Uganda. It is reported that the couple on June 30, while at their home, picked up a quarrel for unknown reasons.

In the process, Byarugaba allegedly kicked Musiime in the stomach. Later Musiime who was pregnant developed complications.

Experito Semuli, the area LC I chairperson explained that on Monday, Musiime died en route to Kakumiro health centre IV. Area residents mobilised and arrested Byarugaba and handed him over to the police.

Julius Hakiiza, Albertine region police spokesperson stated that murder charges have already been preferred against the suspect who is currently detained at the Kakumiro police station while Musiime’s body has been handed over to the relatives for burial.
