Jonathan Majors has been the talk for a month now. The Creed III star ran afoul of the law on March 25 when police officers charged him with strangulation, assault, and harassment.

The 30-year-old alleged victim sustained minor injuries to the head and neck. She added confusion to this equation when Andrew Bourke, Majors’ publicist, released a series of text messages between her and Majors following his arrest.

Bourke thought the messages would prove his client’s innocence. But he miscalculated; she sounds like an abuse victim trying to excuse the actor’s assault. Or, at the very least, you get the sense that trying to grab his phone compelled Majors to attack the woman. Either way, the actor’s fortunes have continued to deteriorate.

His lawyer (Priya Chaudhry) supposedly submitted irrefutable evidence exonerating Majors. But the District Attorney went ahead and filed domestic violence charges against Majors, which seemed absurd.

Well, things have taken an interesting turn. First, Chaudhry has yet to reveal this irrefutable video evidence she boasted about in March.

Secondly, multiple women are coming forward and not only accusing Majors of abuse but also cooperating with the District Attorney’s office, which explains the decision to move forward with the domestic violence charges.

Meanwhile, the public is split. Some have compared Majors to Ezra Miller. They don’t understand why Ezra, who assaulted a woman in Iceland, burgled a couple in Hawaii, and groomed a minor, is walking free when Majors is facing serious jail time while simultaneously losing a lucrative acting career.

Keep in mind that Ezra’s crimes are not up for debate. There’s a mountain of evidence pinning the actor to his sins, while Majors’ assault charges are based on unsubstantiated allegations at this point. And yet, Majors’ publicists and management firm have dropped him, and studios have severed ties with the actor.

Some argue that Ezra’s LGBTQ+ status protects him from the consequences of his misdeeds. But when did you last hear any news regarding Ezra Miller in a new film? Studios have no interest in hiring him. Plus, the law has not forgotten Ezra.

Prosecutors are currently trying the actor in various courts. It may take a while, but he will pay for his crimes. People compare the two because Jonathan Majors has a likable personality.

His followers are hesitant to believe these allegations against him, particularly in light of what they learned from the Johnny Depp/ Amber Heard case.

So, what should Disney do?

Majors is Kang in the MCU, as in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The actor is a crucial component of the MCU’s future. What if Majors loses his case? Can Disney afford to attach a convicted domestic abuser to their biggest properties?

Majors’ supporters want Marvel to wait and see. But that’s risky. The Law is painfully slow. It might be years before Majors’ case is concluded. By then, the studio would have shot and even released The Kang Dynasty.

If Disney keeps him around as the MCU’s next major villain and he loses his case, the public may boycott Avengers 4, costing the studio hundreds of millions of dollars.

People downplay these losses because they think Hollywood studios have piles of cash sitting in a vault somewhere. They don’t realize that studios borrow money to finance film projects. And when a movie flops at the box office, the studio is still expected to pay those hundreds of millions back.

That is how some studios collapse. Their debt mounts because of successive box office flops until the company has no choice
but to fold. It makes sound business sense to recast Kang now before Majors’ situation gets worse.

Then again, the actor’s supporters have promised to boycott Marvel if they drop him because of unproven allegations. This puts Disney in a challenging position. For now, they are waiting to see how this situation evolves.
