Central Perk in Bukoto is everything – a bar, grill restaurant and gardens.

Having been transformed from a palatial home, it gives off family outing vibes. Due to the variety of meaty grills, several of their clients come with children for some juicy bites.

But their in-house DJ is yet to know or recognise this fact as jam after jam that blazes out from the speakers are all adult-themed songs full of obscenities no matter the time of day.

Nice, modern jams by the way, but you actually feel sorry for the parents who tag their children along. For the adults though, it is a recommendable nice chilling place if you prefer to sit outside under the gazebos for a gang outing, at the open space bar for a solo drinking spree, or inside for the more cozy and intimate chat moments.

It is very spacious and is apparently open 24 hours with a whole village of waiters and waitresses willingly ready to attend to you. Every grill you can think of is there – pork, goat, fish, beef. That’s not to say quick meals aren’t available.

If you are in a hurry, one of the recommended quickest meals is rice and wet fry chicken or beef. It certainly tastes as bad as it looks. The plating itself does not dazzle or elevate the eating mood. Perhaps that’s the price you pay for opting for a quick meal because the grills look amazingly appetizing.

The vegetable rice appears like Basmati but lacks that known authentic prominent fragrance and delicious flavour. I did not get to taste the tiny bed of salad made of fresh cabbage and carrot chops.

The meats are just too bony and dry hard with a total disconnect from the wet fry which would also not pass its own tasty test. Not even close to the Shs 32,000 pricing.
