Ruto, who has been accused by the opposition of engaging in early campaigns, publicly mentioned Musyoka’s name as a possible challenger last week while addressing a meeting in Homa Bay County.

In a statement published on its official website on Friday 13, 2023, the embassy said there are high risks of terrorism activities targeting areas frequented by foreigners and tourists in Nairobi and elsewhere in Kenya.

A dispatch from State House in Nairobi said the country’s council of ministers had approved the deployment which will now head to parliament for the needed ratification.

The UN Security Council gave the green light this month for the deployment of a thousand-strong support force led by Kenyan police, after a year of repeated calls for help from Haiti.
