Last night, I could hardly sleep. You know those nights when you wake up at 1:30am after sleeping for two hours, then feel fresh and ready for work? That was me.
I failed to go back to sleep until morning; not even after I sat up and prayed. I only dozed off at 5am, only to wake up again at 6am. But seeing as I am on a deliberate quest not to credit the devil for anything in my life anymore, when I was talking about my ordeal, I expressed gratitude for the Lord keeping me awake to spare me possible nightmares and spiritual attacks that launch in the dream world.
Take that, Satan!
Do you know that it is very possible for the devil to start a sustained attack on your life to a point where you are constantly only talking about how ‘powerful’ he is, and before you know it, you cannot remember the last time you even testified the goodness of God Almighty?
Satan is very cunning, and he has always wanted to take God’s position in our lives. When all fails, he will unleash challenge after challenge, and soon you will be in an indirect worship of the devil’s power over you. Watch out.
What may sound like you moaning about your illness, lack of money, your frustrations and fears, could very well turn into a daily song; a broken record the devil enjoys listening to, especially if you sing it daily and somehow forget to even talk about what the Lord has done!
There is a silver lining to every cloud. Try to find it. Be intentional in telling the devil about the strength of your God, as opposed to constantly highlighting all the ways your life seems to be going wrong.
Like they say, it is about time you told the storm about your God, instead of always telling God about the storm. Even in church, no wonder the bas- ket reserved for a thanksgiving seed is usually the smallest in most churches, because we are just not good at giving thanks.
My friend, check yourself and be sure that lately you are not in the habit of testifying the devil’s effectiveness in your life. And like in every case, when someone is thanked or appreciated properly, they are motivated to do even more…
Just saying!
