Airtel Africa teams up with top African artists to promote smart data usage

NAIROBI, Kenya — Airtel Africa, a leading telecommunications provider, has partnered with three renowned African artists to educate customers on how to optimize their data usage.

Fally Ipupa from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania, and Simi from Nigeria have collaborated with Airtel Africa to create a song that provides customers with practical tips on managing their data.

The partnership is part of Airtel Africa’s ongoing #SmartaWithData campaign, which aims to promote education on better data usage and management. The campaign is currently active in seven African countries, including Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, and Malawi.

“We want to ensure that our customers get the most out of Airtel data bundles, thereby enhancing their online experience,” said Rohit Marwha, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer at Airtel Africa. “By collaborating with these artists, we can deliver clear messages that resonate with our customers and empower them to make smarter use of their data.”

The #SmartaWithData campaign offers tips to help customers make the most of their data, while also encouraging them to share their own tips. Customers can access all data bundles easily via USSD, Airtel Lite, or the MyAirtel App.

Airtel Africa’s partnership with top African artists is a strategic move to engage with its young customers, aged 18-35 years, and promote smart data usage habits. By leveraging the influence of popular artists, Airtel Africa aims to create a cultural shift in how customers use and manage their data.
