Airtel Uganda announces interim dividend payout of UGX 83 billion

KAMPALA, Uganda — Airtel Uganda Limited, has announced an interim dividend payout of UGX 83 billion (approximately $22 million USD) to its shareholders.
The dividend, approved by the company’s board of directors on November 22, 2024, will be paid at a rate of UGX 2.075 per share. The payout is expected to be completed by January 3, 2025.
According to a statement issued by the company, the dividend will be paid electronically, net of withholding tax, to all shareholders as of December 16, 2024. Shareholders are advised to ensure that their dividend payment mandates are up to date.
Airtel Uganda’s interim dividend payout is a significant development for the company’s investors, who will benefit from the distribution of the company’s cumulative retained earnings as of September 30, 2024.
Airtel Uganda Limited is a public limited liability company incorporated in Uganda and regulated by the Uganda Communications Commission. The company is listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange.
