The burnt tourist vehicle

Suspected Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels from the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have killed two foreign tourists and a Ugandan tour guide, Eric Elyai inside Queen Elizabeth national park.

According to available information, the attack happened around Lake Nyamunanuka in Kasese district in western Uganda.

The attackers also torched a Land Cruiser vehicle, registration number UBF 303C belonging to Wild Goriila Safaris. Police spokesperson Fred Enanga, confirmed the attack in a tweet on X (formerly Twitter).

We have registered a cowardly terrorist attack on two foreign tourists and a Ugandan in Queen Elizabeth national park. The three were killed, and their safari vehicle burnt. Our joint forces responded immediately upon receiving the information and are aggressively pursuing the suspected ADF rebels. We express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims,” said Enanga.

The attack comes at the time when Uganda President Yoweri Museveni claimed over the weekend that Ugandan security is about to wipe out the ADF rebels and was pursuing them wherever they are in Uganda and abroad.
