Police hunt for 14-year-old girl over stabbing father to death 

Police in Oyam District is hunting for a 14-year-old girl on allegations of stabbing her father, Emmanuel Otim to death at Ajaya village in Loro sub-county.

The minor whose identity has been withheld, allegedly stabbed her father on Monday night during a domestic fight between her parents. 

Reports indicate that Otim returned home drunk and picked up a quarrel with his wife whom he found sharing a bed with the minor. The quarrel advanced into a fight, forcing the girl to stab her father’s thigh using a kitchen knife causing severe bleeding, which led to his death. 

Anthony Ongom, Otim’s landlord said the deceased died on the compound.

“He tried running outside but collapsed in the compound and died,” he said. 

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga Region police spokesperson confirmed the incident, saying the teenager is on the run but efforts to have her apprehended are ongoing. The deceased’s body is lying in Anyeke health center IV pending postmortem.
