Police in Lira city have impounded a vehicle adorned with stickers featuring President Yoweri Museveni.
The vehicle, a Toyota Premio, bearing a distinctive yellow sticker with the inscription “M7 2026-2032” on the number plate, was impounded from Uganda Technical College (UTC) lower playground and is presently being held at Ojwina police station.
Patrick Jimmy Okema, North Kyoga police spokesperson, says that on August 23, security received information about the said vehicle and had been monitoring it over allegations that it was involved in criminal activities.
He explains that upon a thorough search of the vehicle, officers discovered a national identity card belonging to Ambrose Okori. Additionally, they recovered another metallic number plate affixed with a yellow sticker bearing the label “M7 2026-2032.”
The search also yielded a pair of army uniforms, an overall, a sizable stick, and a long-sleeve shirt featuring the UPDF insignia. Okori, believed to be the sole occupant and owner of the vehicle, is currently evading the authorities, prompting an active search by the police.
It is worth noting that previous security warnings have cautioned the general public against wearing military attire, but these directives have been consistently flouted by some individuals.
