Thirty-one senior managers from 12 African countries have completed a leadership programme run by Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA), the continent’s largest Coca-Cola bottler.
The group is the second to finish the company’s EDGE Senior Leadership Acceleration Programme, and the first to draw participants from across Africa.
CCBA opened this year’s programme to staff from two other bottlers, Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company and Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company. Employees of The Coca-Cola Company had taken part in earlier sessions.
The programme, run with Henley Business School Africa, covers strategy, value creation, business transformation, commercial decision-making and team leadership.
Participants combined classroom learning with mentoring, coaching and business projects. To graduate, each presented a project linked to the company’s priorities.
CCBA, which says it serves more than 840,000 customers across Africa, says it needs leaders able to work in complex and varied markets.
“People are at the heart of everything we do, and programmes like EDGE demonstrate our commitment to investing in their growth and future success,” said Natasa Prodanovic, CCBA’s chief people and culture officer.
She said bringing together staff from different parts of the Coca-Cola system had allowed participants to “build meaningful connections, share diverse perspectives and strengthen collaboration across our markets”.
The graduation took place in Bryanston, Johannesburg, on 4 November.
