Bank of Africa-Uganda unveils “Appsolutely Eassy” digital banking campaign

KAMPALA, Uganda — Bank of Africa-Uganda launched its “Appsolutely Eassy” campaign on Thursday, introducing a seamless and fully remote account opening experience via its BOA Wallet App.
The innovative digital banking solution is designed to put financial services directly into the hands of Ugandans, eliminating the need to visit a physical branch. The campaign specifically targets the youth, first-time banking customers, and existing account holders, tapping into Uganda’s rising smartphone adoption and mobile-first lifestyle.
According to the GSMA Mobile Economy Sub-Saharan Africa 2024 report, smartphone usage in Uganda is projected to surpass 80% by 2025, driven by increased internet access and more affordable devices. This growing trend has created a fertile ground for digital banking solutions like the BOA Wallet App.
“With the BOA Wallet, we are removing traditional barriers to financial inclusion,” said Arthur Isiko, Managing Director of Bank of Africa-Uganda. “Now, anyone can open a fully functional bank account in minutes, right from their mobile phone — no paperwork, no queues, no delays.”
The BOA Wallet App offers a comprehensive suite of digital services that empower customers to manage their finances effortlessly. Key features include BOA Pay, a simple and secure way to make digital payments to merchants and service providers; bill payments, which provide convenient payment options for utilities, airtime, and other essential services; and interest-earning savings, which allow customers to save directly through the app and earn attractive interest rates on their deposits.
The app is designed with security-conscious users in mind, offering real-time transaction alerts, a sleek and intuitive interface, and full access to funds anytime, anywhere.
Through innovations like the BOA Wallet App, Bank of Africa-Uganda is making financial empowerment truly “Appsolutely Eassy” for Ugandans, driving deposits, expanding access, and delivering a modern banking experience that fits today’s lifestyle.
