Stephen Kissa, another Ugandan athlete secured 5th position with a time of 2:10:22, while Andrew Rotich dropped out of the race after 30 kilometers.

“This was God’s timing to make me shine at such an incredible athletics event, so all the glory is back to him,” said an overjoyed Kiplangat.

Benjamin Njia, vice president technical at Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) says Kiplangat’s performance was spectacular. “We are so happy for winning a second gold for our country,” said Njia. A few days ago Joshua Cheptegei won gold in the 10,000m race.
