Uganda seeks seats on Universal Postal Union, ITU Councils

KAMPALA, Uganda – The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) is actively lobbying for international support for Uganda’s candidacy for key positions within global and continental organizations.

According to the UCC, Director of Corporate Affairs Fred Otunnu, along with Ambassador Duncan Muhumuza, Deputy Head of Mission in New York, are engaged in efforts to secure support for Uganda’s bid for a seat on the Universal Postal Union (UPU) Council of Administration and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Council.

Additionally, Uganda is seeking re-election to the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU) Assistant Secretary General seat, with Ms. Jessica Ssengooba representing the country’s candidacy. The lobbying efforts are being led by the UCC Executive Director.
