Two feared dead as truck plunges into R.Nile in Nwoya

Two people are feared dead after a truck they were travelling in plunged into R.Nile in Nwoya district, northern Uganda.

Tumusiime, the driver, his turnboy Geoffrey Lushata and the truck were swept away by the rapid waters and are yet to be recovered.

According to Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga police spokesperson said that the driver of the truck that was heading to Kampala from Gulu developed a mechanical condition and lost control before flipping over the protective bridge rails.

Okema says that the mobile phone belonging to the turnboy fell on the bridge and his relatives were calling it following reports of the incident.
