Two Bishop Stuart University students perish in Mbarara road accident

Two students of Bishop Stuart University have perished in a road accident along the Mbarara Lyantode road.

Asuman Kilabala alias Kibazo of Potts Football Club and Ashiru Agaba of Kahonda Football Club died on Sunday at Akyapa when two motor vehicles collided.

Both were playing in the Kitunga League which was started by the old boys of Muntuyera High School Kitunga in Ntungamo district, western Uganda.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of Toyota Spacio, reg no. UBC 554D who was driving from the Mbarara side heading to Kampala, lost control of the motor vehicle due to overspeeding, drifted from his lane and rammed into the Tata lorry which was coming from the opposite direction.

Samson Kasasira the Rwizi region police spokesperson says Kilabala and Agaba were riding in the Spacio died on the spot while two others survived with severe injuries. The two were set to play in Sunday’s league games that have since been postponed.
