RIP: Ananias Twinoburyo

In loving memory of Ananias Twinoburyo Omwanawomuntu (26th November 1938 – 18th August 2023)

Ananias Twinoburyo Omwanawomuntu, a devoted servant and a beacon of wisdom, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2023. Born on November 26, 1938, his legacy shines brightly through the lives he touched.
 
With unwavering commitment, Ananias served as Town Clerk in Hoima, Kasese, Fort Portal, Kabale, Mukono, and Mbarara from 1966 to 1976. His contributions during this transformative period shaped these towns’ histories. An insatiable learner, Ananias was an avid reader and diligent researcher.
 
He authored “Abaijukuru ba Ruganyirwa,” a captivating book celebrating his family’s heritage, leaving a lasting legacy for generations. Beyond administrative roles, Ananias’s commitment to community shone through.
 
He played a pivotal role in selecting Ankole’s Omugambe in 1994, upholding cultural traditions he held dear. Survived by two wives, six children, and seventeen grandchildren, Ananias fostered love and unity in his household, a testament to his character.
 
A memorial service will be held on August 22, 2023, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am at All Saints Cathedral Nakaseero, where loved ones can gather to honor his life.
 
On August 23, Ananias will be laid to rest in Rushoga/Kyakabunga, a place of personal significance, marking his final journey, leaving an indelible mark on hearts. In gratitude, let’s remember Ananias for his positive impact. His legacy inspires us to lead lives of purpose, service, and curiosity.
