Popular Nigerian preacher Rev Funke coming to Uganda

Popular Nigerian pastor, author, teacher, marriage counselor, transformational coach and humanitarian, Reverend Funke Felix Adejumo, is expected to visit Uganda this April as the key speaker at the 11th annual Virtuous Woman conference slated for April 29 at Hotel Africana.

Funke will be hosted by Bishop Isaiah Mbuga and wife Deborah Mbuga, of Christ’s Heart Ministries International. She will on the same day speak during a Business and Leadership Symposium dinner at Kampala Serena hotel.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Embracing God’s Call”, which Bishop Mbuga said was chosen because sometimes people shy away from what God has called them to be.

He said they invited Rev Funke to be the keynote speaker because “we believe at this point the women in Uganda have heard us and it is time they heard from another different voice”.

Bishop Mbuga said his wife came up with the idea of this conference after they visited the home of a soon-to-be married woman, who did not know how to cook.

“I took upon myself to start cooking classes at our home for women who were getting into marriage. Eventually when we started interacting with these women, we discovered there were other character flaws. So, overtime, we thought that the best thing to do was to get these women mentored; therefore, we started weekly meetings to talk to the ladies who were getting married,” he said.

After seeing the impact and positive feedback, they decided to come up with a bigger platform, hence the Virtuous Women conference where they talk about relationships, skills and spirituality.

Rev Funke is the founder of Agape Christian Ministries in Nigeria and has authored at least 50 books including Fifty Lessons Life Taught Me and My Seed is Designed for the Palace.

Conference tickets go for Shs 50,000, while the Business and Leadership Symposium dinner at Kampala Serena hotel will go for Shs 250,000
