Police in Namisindwa is hunting for the LC I chairperson of Bubutu TC cell for allegedly orchestrating the robbing of Shs 10 million.

Fred Masika is reported to have led gunmen who raided a shop belonging to Kibeti Mutuma where they stole Shs 7 million. They also raided another shop belonging to Paulo Manawa and stole Shs 3 million.

On Friday, police launched a manhunt for the gunmen with a sniffer dog, which led them to Masika’s house. However, Masika was not at home at the time.

Namisidwa resident district commissioner Imran Muluga said that breaking into shops in the sub-counties of Bubutu town council, Bubutu sub-county, and Lwakhakha town has become rampant. According to Muluga, when they searched Masika’s house, they found house breaking equipment.

Muluga said that security personnel have started a hunt for Masika and his accomplices.
