Revellers roasting meat
November 26 was all about crew vibes, nyama choma and live music at Jahazi pier, Munyonyo.
The 10th edition of Roast and Rhyme did not only leave revellers with unforgettable vibes, but also with memories of the squid games that all revellers were forced to participate in as a way to survive and enjoy the party.
For the slay queens, this was not as much fun, as their makeup started washing away, revealing their ‘factory settings’. With the surface getting slippery and muddy, those who were not dressed for the weather ended up abandoning their shoes to walk and dance barefoot.
However much muddy the grounds got, the incessant rain did not stop patrons from enjoying the party as DJ Ali Breezy warmed them up and made them forget about the rain.
At around 8:30 pm, the party started making sense when Steve Keys stepped on the floor, performing with a live band, Jamaican songs, and then taking fans back to the golden days of kadongo kamu.
Revellers also got charmed by Myko Ouma and the band, before Lydia Jazmine got on and started her session. Jazmine’s performance was showstopping as she performed both her latest hits and old songs.
She was accompanied by Beanie Gunter, whose vibes and flows are top notch to listen to and watch. At about 10:30 pm, it became comical as partygoers, now intoxicated by the free-flowing beer at the Bell Lager-sponsored night, started shedding ‘holy tears’ as Levixone came on stage with a strong gospel music vibe.
Levixone did not only prove his energy on stage, but also passion, wrapping up the show on a high note, with Chikibombe and Turn the Replay.
