Luyimbazi commends VAAL for its $10m investment in Cadenza

David Luyimbazi, the KCCA deputy executive director, has commended VAAL over the $10 million investment in the Cadenza residences in Kampala.

Nestled in Nakasero, Cadenza Residence is a living composition of studios, one and two bedrooms. Neighbouring several embassies, and with the Parliament of Uganda, State House, and the United Nations office nearby, the area guarantees security and prestige.

“Permissions from KCCA to establish mega-buildings are very difficult to secure if you don’t get help. We hand-held VAAL until all the permissions were secured. This is a major housing developer in the world, bringing first-class housing to the city,” he said.

“The team is going to deploy $10 million in Kampala, create jobs, and pay taxes. We are going to see plumbers working, maids, and university students. This building is going to change the skyline of the city. They are creating investment options where Ugandans will invest their money and transfer ownership at any point,” he said.

Amanda Ngabirano, the chairperson of the National Physical Planning Board, said a home is more than just a house. A home is not just shelter. Just like I read in the brochure, you have a lot of amenities and so it is more than just a house, and we look forward to it. We hope that it will be more than just a building.

According to Brian Arinaitwe, the head of sales at VAAL, it has a strong foothold in Nairobi, Ghana, and this offers us a lot of experience to deliver such a 24-floor project. This does not only give us the technical expertise to deliver the project but also ensures that we are financially capable of delivering a project of this magnitude. For those who are still looking out for investment opportunities, it does not get any better than this; we still have units available.

“We don’t aim to build and abandon the project; we shall be staying behind to not only do the property maintenance, which is a big challenge for most Ugandans, but also help investors to rent out the units,” he said.

Hajjat Minsa Kabanda, the Minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs, commended VAAL for an idea of making the skyline of Kampala shine more and creating spaces that enhance the quality of life and drive economic growth.

“I believe that this development will create space that will meet the needs of our people. I urge the KCCA team to always pass for guidance and checking on the progress of the project,” she said.

Charles Mwesige, the vice president of the Association of Real Estate Agents Uganda, said, “We are having innovative real estate investors coming in, which is good for the country and the economy, given the amount of money they are investing. He said the best thing that can happen to any country is the inflow of foreign direct investment from international practitioners. We have VAAL coming in, and other big investors that work with VAAL will be attracted to come in because of what they are seeing now.
