Four Points by Sheraton takes ‘sharing is caring’ to another level

Four Points by Sheraton Dar es Salaam does something extremely unusual.

They advertise their competitor’s food businesses despite running their own in-house restaurant. They even include their phone numbers, distance from their hotel, and the expected dress code at those restaurants.

Maybe they are into a business partnership of sorts, or they know that they serve totally different diners hence no direct competition, but still, it appeared quite strange.

It is a beautiful hotel situated right in the middle of Dar es Salaam and no doubt it is a hotel targeting foreign tourists. And what better way to charm tourists’ hearts than through a food avalanche.

At this hotel, it is eat till you drop at both breakfast and lunch. Of course, at $155 (about Shs 581,665) per night, food should be the least of their worries, but you will still be impressed by the options on offer. For breakfast, every food that you can think of is served – from cereals, seafoods, legumes, fruits to meats, sea foods, chicken (roasted and grilled), and all sausage options among the so many.

If they overwhelm you at breakfast, they will triple-whelm you at lunch. After their heavy breakfast, you hardly need their lunch. Wisely, dinner is toned down, after all, you got over-served at both breakfast and lunch.

The grills are littered with boiled and simmered vegetables including cornlettes (baby corn), asparagus, cauliflower (white and purple), lettuce, fresh cherry tomatoes, and broccoli. The gravy is smooth sweet and so are their grills.

Expertly well done – not overly dry but also not overly juicy. Class and quality at its best – very worth every penny.
