Specioza Kazibwe

Uganda’s first female vice president, Dr Speciosa Naigaga Wandira Kazibwe was rushed to Jinja hospital on Sunday night after being involved in a motor vehicle accident along the Kayunga-Njeru road in Buikwe district.

Ssezibwa Regional Police spokesperson, Helen Butoto confirmed that Kazibwe was travelling with her 17-year-old grandson, Igapira Wandika when the accident occurred.

The incident happened after the front tyre of their Toyota Land Cruiser, registration number UG2372M, burst while travelling from Kayunga towards Njeru.

Police reported that the tyre rupture caused the driver, Fred Kayunga, to lose control of the vehicle. The car then veered off the road and collided with a pole in Wakisi-Wakikola area.
