Assailants storm Adjumani district chairman’s home, burn two vehicles

Unidentified people attacked the home of Adjumani district chairperson Ben Anyama in Adjumani town council and burnt two vehicles that were parked in the compound.

The burnt vehicles are registration numbers UAJ 737X and UBL 652X. Neighbours said that they were alerted by the vehicle’s alarm system to intervene and put off the fire with water and sand. 

The attackers, who fled the scene without any trace dropped a brown envelope whose details are not known. Adjumani resident district commissioner (RDC) Taban Peter Data said in a telephone interview that the chairman is safe and the police have been deployed at the scene.

North West Nile Region police spokesperson, Ignatius Dragudu told URN that investigations are still ongoing.
