24-year-old man chops off father’s head over land in Namisindwa

Wetaya is accused of cutting off Wilson Masai’s head

Residents in Bumakuma village, Namisindwa district are still gripped by shock after a 24-year-old man identified only as Wetaya slashed off his father’s head in a land wrangle last Friday.

The deceased is Wilson Masai, aged 70 years and a resident of Bumakuma village Buwatuwa parish, Buwatuwa sub-county in Namisindwa.

According to eyewitnesses, Masai on Friday castigated his son for selling his land and all properties on it last year without consent, vowing never to bequeath him any other properties.

This allegedly annoyed Wetaya who grabbed a sharp panga and chopped off his father’s head before taking off. Sam Kundu the LC III chairperson of Buwatuwa sub-county confirmed the incident, saying they are currently hunting for Wetaya.
